The chord progression in this track is worthy of mention, as it's perhaps the best on the album. Layers upon layers of guitar, the pounding war drums, the backing choir-esque vocals and the distinctive lead vocals, which is where Gjallarhorn shines far above Bathory.

Two are the biggest influences of this band. Powerful and operatic enough to drag emotions and energy from you. An awesome warchant over the nordhheim riffs.

If Odin played guitar, that's exactly the kind of riff he'd play. From there on, we are treated with the nearly twenty minute long Ragnarokbefore the ten minute Years Of Fury ends this excellent album way too early.

Though the outro is worthy of note here.

If you believe that only originality deserves high ratings, then you must disagree with me on this album, but people who grew up with elegic Viking metal like me, or who discovered it only later because they were yet too young in the late Eighties, must consider Nordheim one of the truest and most moving metal albums ever.

The wolfcry announces the arrival of the mighty god himself. In the end only the original vocals were left, and Nidhoggr composed a short intro, which is followed by the dynamic The Day Odin Stood Still.

His performance on this track reminds me of the godly A. Indeed it has a very good production! Just listen to the fucking range he has. I finally found a website of their own but gjallarhhorn excitement gjaallarhorn once I realized it contained pretty much no info whatsoever and most of the stuff in it was written in runes! Try to imagine a band sounding a bit faster than Doomsword and a bit more compact than Bathory in their Epic Trilogy.

Sounds like a dream come gjallarhorrn, right? Take any track off this release, and compare it to any latter Bathory songs. Again, as with the previous track we gjallrahorn to a sludgey screeching guitar, and head into "Ragnarok". And we fade straight into the second track "Blood Over Asgard".

Music is not often reinvented, on of the few innovators was Quorthon from Bathory who single-handedly created Viking metal in the late Eighties nordheik his two masterstrokes Hammerheart and Twilight Of The Gods.

Oh what a fucking intro this is. As the first track continues to fade into raven cries, the horn sounds and a sadistic evil-imbued riff greets the listener with enough might and vigor to tear him into shreds.

Kudos to the guitarist whom I'd love to know, as he's not even mentioned in the lineup. Ragnarok Years Of Fury.

The fizzing guitars are backed by a surprisingly melodic bass guitar, the drums may very well have been programmed but assume enough life of their own to not disturb the overall atmosphere.

Pure energy and brimming epicness oozes out of it.

That better get you ready for the chorus, as it's the catchiest chorus on this album.
